As of April 2021, ambulance service for medical emergencies in Bonita shall be administered by a new partnership between Bonita-Sunnyside Fire Protection District and Chula Vista Fire Department. This new opportunity provides extensive ambulance coverage for the cities of Chula Vista and Imperial Beach, and the community of Bonita. Fire suppression, mitigation, and investigation services in Bonita will still be handled by the Bonita-Sunnyside Fire Protection District.
